Tu sens la terre bouger ? continues the principle of the previous chapters: a seesaw where two people keep their balance together, so as not to touch the ground. This game creates a paradoxical movement, so that nothing moves. If one leans forward, the other must compensate with a second movement, and so on; the players are condemned to always respond to each other, until the game stops.

Does it ever really stop?

Tu sens la terre bouger ? keeps this game logic and adds a layer of circus performance. Here, the scenography, built in front of the audience and an integral part of the show, culminates in a giant mobile made of aerial balances. On beams suspended in the air, the artists stand in balance and suspension thanks to the help of the audience on the ground. A tribute to Calder’s mobiles for the present day.

Tu sens la terre bouger ? is designed for outdoor public space. Two musicians and four circus artists lead the audience into a poetic and joyful performance, where balance and communication are the main rules of the game. The interdependence between audience and artists is tangible from the start, because it is the audience, acting as a counterweight, that allows the scenography to stand upright.
The performance follows a ceremonial logic, whose aim is to create a human mobile with iron masts, ropes, stones and wood. The show is intimate and spectacular at once: intimate, because it brings listening and attention to detail; spectacular, because on stage the construction becomes more difficult and complex as the show goes on. Like the game of mikado, the success of our human mobile depends on the audience’s collaboration so that no one falls…
