Presentation

How do you tell the story of your city?
When speaking of one city, do we describe all cities?

What can the lines, shapes and drawings of an urban map reveal about the character of a place? Can a map be read like an anatomical chart of urban space?

A wire walker travels through Buenos Aires, Havana, Brussels, Barcelona, Karlstad, Beirut and an imaginary city.

ICI is a slack wire solo on the theme of the city, its construction and deconstruction. Inspired by Italo Calvino’s novel Invisible Cities, in which Marco Polo recounts his travels to the Great Khan, the show blends circus, video and music.

It is a piece that calls on the imagination and gives a voice not to a character, nor to the city, but to their encounter and to the unfathomable thing that binds them.
